By Car from the East

· At junction 5, take the B7057/​B7066 exit to Harthhill/​Shotts
· Slight left onto B7057

By Rail

Hartwood Railway Station is 1.4 miles from the prison as you leave Newmill Gardens towards Hartwood Road bear left onto Hartwood Road, the road then changes to Newmill-Canthill Road where you will turn left onto road

For all visits to Shotts Prison, visitors are required to bring photographic ID and proof of address (dated within the past 3 months). The only forms of photographic ID that will be accepted are:
