Booking a visit to Parc Prison
Visiting Times at Parc Prison

Prisoners are responsible for booking their own visits; this is done by using an application on the Central Management System (CMS) – accessed via touchscreen computer terminals that are located on each unit in the establishment. Once a visit has been approved it is up to the individual prisoner to inform his family and friends of the date and time of the visit.

Getting to HMP Parc
HMP & YOI Parc is located a short distance from the town of Bridgend, South Wales.

Bus: 10-minute bus ride from station to prison.

Train: By train to Bridgend, 10 minute car / bus journey from station.

Car: From London/the North, travel along the M4 to Junction 36. Leave the motorway remaining in the left hand lane of the slip road. Take left at the roundabout (first exit). Take the next left into Heol Hopcyn John, following signposts for ‘Prison’. Travel along the road for approximately 500 yards. HMP & YOI Parc is on the right hand side of the road.

From West Wales, travel along the M4 to Junction 36. Leave the motorway remaining in the right hand lane of the slip road. Turn right at the roundabout (fourth exit). Take the first exit at the next roundabout. Take the next left into Heol Hopcyn John, following signposts for ‘Prison’. Travel along the road for approximately 500 yards. HMP & YOI Parc is on the right hand side of the road.

There is free car parking for all visitors in front of the prison. Disabled parking available.

For all visits to HMP Parc, visitors are required to bring photographic ID and proof of address (dated within the past 3 months). The only forms of photographic ID that will be accepted are:
  • Valid Passport
  • Valid Photographic
  • Driving Licence (full or provisional)
  • Citizen Card
  • Senior Citizens Bus Pass Travel Card (issued by Scottish Government)
The only forms of proof of address that will be accepted are:
  • Utility bill
  • Council tax bill
  • Benefit book
  • Bank statement
